MediaCore Softswitch may be installed - all in all - on one computer, as well as on several computers in cluster configuration.
In the first case computer, on which this softswitch is being installed, plays role of DB storage, core processor and server at the same time. Such configuration answers the purposes of a company with average volume of simultaneous active calls not greater than 300-400.
If you need to increase the softswitch carrying capacity, you should distribute the total incoming load between several computers. The best way is to separate the tasks of signal packages processing, media packages transfer and billing tools between different computers. Cluster configuration is used for performing all tasks simultaneously.
Using clusters configuration for MediaCore softswitch operation allows to omit any restriction of the system capacity and performance.
Due to it's universality and flexibility MediaCore softswitch perfectly works with any systems supported operation by RADIUS protocol. Routing and billing capabilities of MediaCore softswitch can easily fit to any of such systems making the ending applications more functional.
